SYNOPSIS
Duplicate is about two people, one good and one bad, who co-incidentally have the same face. Babloo (Shah Rukh Khan) is basically a daydreamer and aspires to be a chef of international repute at 5-star hotels. Manu Dada (Shah Rukh Khan), on the other hand, is a ruthless criminal on the run. Babloo is in love with Sonia (Juhi Chawla) who is the Food & Beverage Manager of a posh hotel while Manu romances nightclub dancer Lily (Sonali Bendre).

Babloo and Manu's tracks keep colliding because if their facial similarity. At one point, Babloo the cook is mistakenly apprehended, charged and put behind bars for crimes committed by the fugitive Manu. Upon realising their mistake, the police release the cook and hands him an identification certificate, which the fugitive gets a hold of and begins to play havoc with. Now Manu holds the innocent Babloo at ransom and continues his violent escapades using Babloo's identity. Babloo eventually retaliates and seeks revenge.

The film ends on a happy note with the realisation of Babloo's dreams. He is finally a chef of International Hotel and Lily takes Manu's life when she realizes how honest Babloo and Sonia have been troubled by Manu.
